About.
Cowal Music Club was established in 1944 and so for more than 70 years, it has promoted live music in Cowal. We are run by a committee including three charity trustees and each year we select a season of music for performance in the Cowal town of Dunoon. We are pleased to work with Dunoon Burgh Hall which has a superb concert hall.
The club receives sponsorship from Chamber Music Scotland with funds from Creative Scotland and this financial support helps to give the Cowal audiences a high musical level and a great variety of all kinds of music including jazz (traditional as well as modern), classical including commissioned pieces and Scottish.

The Tunnell Trust writes every year to all Scottish Music Clubs and Arts Guilds known to have an interest in Chamber Music and, wherever possible, the Cowal Music Club avails themselves of this opportunity to book an ensemble and give them an experience of performing in front of a Scottish audience. The Trust was set up in memory of John Tunnell OBE the founding leader of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and his wife, Wendy, and one of the main aims of the Trust is to provide outstanding young British based Chamber Music ensembles with engagements at Scottish venues.
