CLASSY, BRASSY & SASSY

On the 10th April in 2022, Cowal Music Club hosted ‘The Ugly Bug Ragtime Three’ as a beginning to restart their live concerts during lockdown because of Covid 19.

The trio is regarded as three of Scotland’s finest jazzers and the lineup is John Burgess on clarinet and saxophone, Ross Milligan on guitar and Andy Starkey on string base.

From the minute the band struck up their first chord the audience was transported back to the golden age of jazz and a wonderful mix of hot rags and blues all delivered with real drive, swing and verve.

It was a Classy, Brassy and Sassy afternoon and certainly made the audience feel that good music performed by musicians with soul washed away any problem. The audience clapped and tapped their feet to the familiar tunes and the.only complaint was that the afternoon went too quickly.
